Spring is here ... and we wanted to let you know what will be happening over the next few months.
Some things haven’t changed.
Our Instagram account, mindfullytoday, will continue to inspire and uplift you!
"A moment of your time ..." on Substack will continue to go out three times a week. These small, quick 2-3 minute reflections are meant to help you shape your day and ground it and yourself in the mindful life.
"Mind-Fully”, articles written by our director, Kate Morgan, to inspire and inform the mindful life, will go out twice a month.
Some Things are New!
If you’re subscribed to mind-fully publications, on Thursdays you'll start receiving Let’s Do It, small exercises - meditations, journaling prompts, and simple guided mindfulness practices. These tools will all be short and easy for you to access and practice in the busyness of your real life. Sharing your experiences with these exercises in the comments or through the chat will help us stay connected as we practice together.
In the weeks to come, Kate will be adding video posts to the mind-fully blog under the title, A Little Time With Kate. These videos will be 8-15 minute portions of talks and teachings that Kate is doing. We’re intentionally making these ‘break-size’ – a coffee, a few minutes, and a wee bit of learning – all on your timetable and available on your phone, tablet, or computer!
APRIL
In April, we will gather in person and on Zoom on Monday the 24th for tea, snacks, and a lovely evening in each others’ company discussing Mark Nepo’s beautiful book, “The Endless Practice”.
Called “one of the finest spiritual guides of our time, #1 New York Times bestselling author Mark Nepo explores in beautiful prose what it means to become our truest self. A beloved teacher, Nepo weaves his experiences as a poet, philosopher, and cancer survivor to affirm that not only is the soul’s messy and unpredictable journey inevitable, it is an essential tour of survival. No matter where we go we can’t escape this foundational truth: What’s in the way is the way. The point of experience is not to escape life but to live it. Filled with universal insights, comforting stories, and spiritually practical guidance, The Endless Practice will bring readers closer to living life to the fullest.

You can read the book ahead of the session if you choose, or just come and join the discussion. This informal session will be facilitated by Kate Morgan.
Watch for posts on Instagram posts from Becky and blogs from Kate that will focus on the concepts and insights in this book.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you in April.
MAY
In May, we will gather with our South Surrey/White Rock community for “Seeds Of Connection”. This dynamic dialogue with Dr. Kari Grain, our own Kate Morgan, and other community members will speak to how we can bridge the gaps of difference and division around us. This community-wide event, co-sponsored by Tides Of Change and mind-fully, will be held at the White Rock Community Centre, Monday, May 29th, from 7:00-9:00 pm.
You do not want to miss the chance to hear Dr. Grain! You might want to pick up a copy of Dr. Grain’s book, Critical Hope, to read ahead of the session. Books will also be available at the event.
Each person has a unique, ever-changing relationship to hope. Hope alone can be transformational – but in moments of despair, or when you’re up against profound injustice, it isn’t enough on its own. Hope without action is, at best, naïve. At its worst, it operates as a toxic positivity and tricks you into giving up the power and agency you have to change systems that cause suffering.
Enter critical hope: a spark of passion, an abiding belief that transformation is not just possible, but vital. This is hope in action: an engaged, intersectional practice and a commitment to honoring transformative potential across a vast spectrum of experience.

We all have busy lives, and, as a team, we are hoping that creating supports that you can access on your own time is something you will find useful. We also want to remember that face-time doesn’t have to be something you do looking into a device! Real face-time is when we sit together and share our lives, so we will continue to gather, just a bit less often.
It is our hope always to shape the skills and tools we offer in ways that make them most accessible to you! As we move forward with these old and new means of sharing the mindful life, we hope you’ll let us know how we’re doing and how we can be most helpful!
